Subtle and warm, this is an understated but beautifully made Bloodstone ring. In the signet style, great as a man's pinky ring or a mid finger ring. The Bloodstone has a low profile with a delicate serrated edge around the stone.

The mineral aggregate heliotrope (from Greek ἥλιος, hḗlios “Sun”, τρέπειν, trépein “to turn”), also known as bloodstone, is a variety of jasper.

The "classic" bloodstone is green jasper with red. Inclusions in the stone, which are naturally formed, become the red blood markings you will see.

The name "heliotrope" derives from various ancient notions about the manner in which the mineral reflects light. These are described, e.g., by Pliny the Elder (Nat. Hist. 37.165).
