This lovely solitaire ring is way ahead of its time. At a quick glance I thought it was a contemporary ring but as I examine how it is constructed and the cut of the gemstone, it dates back to over 100 years old. The stone is an older cut Citrine set in a closed back setting. The mounting is completely handmade using primitive workmanship. For how delicate this piece is, it is in wonderful condition.

Care for antique rings with closed backs is extremely important. Moisture will get trapped under the stone if the ring is submerged in water. This may cause discoloration in the metal that will reflect through the gemstone.
