This is a classic and romantically beautiful sapphire and diamond engagement ring. The deep, rich, blue oval faceted sapphire is set in four prongs. The platinum mounting set with round faceted diamonds pavé set, taper down the band. This paired with a pavé diamond band is a perfect wedding set. 
 
Sapphires are part of the corundum family.  They are the 2nd hardest stone next to diamonds withstanding daily wear and tear. Sapphires and Rubies (same stone, different color) come in every color of the rainbow and are a great alternative to a diamond for an engagement ring.
