This is an extremely rare collectors piece of Antique Erotica. This carnelian intaglio is carved with an intimate scene. Large in size and in very good condition, this intaglio was set in this simple bezel within the last 30 years.
The Intaglio shows natural inclusions in the stone, you can see the color variations through striations in the stone, they are not cracks but a specific change in the formation of the stone that caused the color to change. It is a deep, dark orange in most of the stone and lightens at the bottom right corner of the carving.
