Here is a primitively carved Intaglio guaranteed at least 100 years old but most likely an ancient Intaglio. This ring was in the private collection of a well know NYC third generation antique dealer. He custom designed this handmade solid gold mounting for this Intaglio in the 1990's. The buttery rich high karat gold tests at least 22k and shows wear as this ring was one of his favorite pieces.
This well loved Intaglio does have a crack in the center that reachs from east to west. This stone should not be removed from the setting as it is secure and solid the way it is.
